Off topic - re-assigning a button on OC radio module

Is there a way to assign an Open Cockpits radio module button to different function even if the module is being controlled by SIOC script using OC4BAv5?
For example, the "Test" button on the Open Cockpits COM module does not do anything in OC4BAv5, even though it's active in the SIOC monitor. It would be really useful as an option if it could be assigned as ATC acknowledgment (normally "1" on the PC keyboard).
ATC direct a frequency change, you reach down to the pedestal and hit "Test" to acknowledge, change the frequency, transfer the frequency, and then hit "Test" to contact. All in one movement, quick and easy.
Is such a thing even possible? If so, how could it be accomplished?
