Hi Roar,
I am currently using Opencockpits FMC v3, MCP v3 and EFIS v2 hardware and SIOC v7.03B2
Having purchased OCBAv5 MAX last November, I had the opportunity over the Xmas break to test my other aircraft and although I had initially used my PMDG 737 NGXu with no issues, I then went on to try my PMDG 777/747 & QW787. The 777 worked flawlessly but I have a couple of issues with the PMDG 747-8 & QW787.
PMDG 747-8 – Everything works with the above hardware except the range selector. When physically turning the knob on my OC EFIS, the knob turns in P3D but the actual range on the ND does not change. If I select the range within the SIM, it adjusts to the chosen range. To be fair, I have not tried testing with the 747-400 so is this just a glitch with the 747-8?
QW787 – I followed the ‘MUST READ OCP4787’ document and get the exact error you described in the troubleshooting section, i.e. ‘Socket Error 000061’ An easy fix based on your explanation but having initially excluded/allowed the relevant files and even turning off both my firewall and disabling real time scanning/AV, I am not able to interface between my OC MCP & EFIS & P3D. I do acknowledge that the FMC is currently not supported. I did read on the forum that this may be a timeout issue but would welcome your input?
One last general question please. When I purchased the above, I read that there was support for the Aerosoft Airbus A318-321 in the package but having unzipped the folder to my SIOC folder, I see no reference to any driver (OCP4ABX) for the Airbus aircraft. I don’t currently own these aircraft but will no doubt purchase them going forward. Am I missing something here, was this part of the purchase or not?
All my software is installed and run as administrator.
I just wanted to say that this is a great product, enjoying the ability to interface with P3D using my OC hardware.
Many thanks,
Dave Dawson
OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
I just tested the EFIS-range selector knob with PMDG B747-400v3 and it works as it should.PMDG 747-8 – Everything works with the above hardware except the range selector. I do not have the 747-8 version, so I can't test it .
This looks like an SDK issue in the 747-8 .
Can you send me the SDK file for the 747-8? Send to roarkrsp@gmail.com
This error indicates that the server(SIOC.exe) does not accept the call from the client(QW787Client.dll) or that the call is blocked by the firewall.QW787 – I followed the ‘MUST READ OCP4787’ document and get the exact error you described in the troubleshooting section, i.e. ‘Socket Error 000061’ An easy fix based on your explanation but having initially excluded/allowed the relevant files and even turning off both my firewall and disabling real time scanning/AV, I am not able to interface between my OC MCP & EFIS & P3D. There seems to be an issue that prevents SIOC.exe to start after QW787 starts up. If SIOC.exe is not running, a Socket Error 10061 will be seen.
I will look into this and come back.
The Airbus driver is no longer supported by me. It was developed some time ago for an earlier AeroSoft AIrbus release. New Airbuses from AeroSoft have now been released., but not tested by me. It can work with the new releases from AeroSoft, but I really don't know.
I can send you the driver if you want it, but as said no support from me.
Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
Users with OC4BAv5 installed will encounter the Socket Error 10061 due to a change in the file name from OC4BAv4_path.ini to OC4BAv5_path..ini in ...\Documents folder.
The problem is corrected in a new updated OCP4787_Client.dll
This new dll can be obtained by OCP4787 customers on request sent to roarkrsp@gmail.com
This issue is seen only for users that are using OC4BAv5 and the OCP4787 driver.

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
Hi Roar,
Thanks for taking the time to check these issues out.
Re the 747-8, there is no SDK for this. When I check the relevant folder, I only see the SDK for the 747-400. I guess this is probably because the 747-8 is an expansion of the 747-400. Don't worry too much about this, it is only a slight niggle and can easily be selected within the SIM. It is just that I prefer to fly the 747-8 instead of the 747-400. If you find a fix then great and please shout if you need any further information.
Re the QW787 - thanks for updating the .dll file. I have unzipped to the SIOC folder and re-run the config making sure the OCP4787_v2.0.ssi script is selected as I am using MCP v3. So when I run P3D, the socket error has now disappeared but I am still not able to interact with either my MCP/EFIS.
Thank you for the offer of sending over the Airbus driver. Please send out and I understand there is no support.

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
More information.......
I have just tested again and can see that SIOC is not starting when I select the QW787 in P3D which is no doubt why I cannot use my MCP/EFIS. Both Firewall/Real Time Scanning turned off at the moment.

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
Is the QW787_OCP4787 activated in P3D's Options/Addons menu?
Do you have the rksoftware QW787_OCP4787 folder with an add-on.xml in your ...\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons folder?

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
Hi Roar,
One other thing I have noticed since swapping out that .dll file, when I open P3D now, I get a blank 'event id' box that pops up which I just clear to carry on with my other aircraft. I use the p3dStarter to set my flights.

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
There are 5 files involved when running the 787 driver
1. QW787_Client.dll in SIOC folder
2. OCP4787_v2.0.ssi in SIOC folder
3. QUALITYWINGS B787.ini in SIOC folder
4. OC4BAv5_path.ini in ...\Documents folder
5. add-on.xml in ....\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\rksoftware QW787_OCP4787
Do you all files and is file 3. above showing correct configurations?

Re: OCBAv5 MAX - Minor Issues
All files exist in the relevant folders and file 3, QUALITYWINGS B787.ini appears to be showing the correct config referencing \IOCards\SIOC\OCP4787_v2.0.ssi
