OpenCockpit's B737 FMC V3 keys do not work[SOLVED]

Post by Daniel Gamboa »

Hi I have problems getting the keys on the FMC V3 to work.
I'm following the FMC V3 setup process as indicate in the OC4BAv4 rksoftware @2017 manual. I followed the steps exactly as stated in said manual .
I can see the menu in the FMC screens (I have two FMC) but when I click the keys nothig happens.
In the left FMC i can see a red light in the DESPY FALL and a green light in the MSG OFSET, no lights showed in the FMC at the right.
I hope thath the tech support wiill guide me on how to solve this issue.
Thanks

Do you have any other modules in addition to the FMCs that are working OK in OC4BAv4?

Have you change the USB connections? Try to make a new configuration with OC4BAv4/Config.

Hi
No, I only have the FMC working with OC4BAv4.
I do not think is a matter of USB connection because I can see the menu or any other display of the FMC that I click in the cabin.
I tried a new configuration with OC4BAv4/Config. but nothing new that I can change from the first configuration.
Thanks

We need to to take this from the start again.

Please verify that you have all OC4BAv4 files in the SIOC folder.

What is the folder path of the SIOC folder?

What is the text in the 2 files:

SIOC.ini PMDG 737.ini

Have you made the modification of the

panel.cfg in the ..SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG\PMDG 737-800NGX\panel\ folder

//
// CDU (Left)
//
[Window02]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
size_mm=385,600
window_size= 0.20052, 0.50000
position=8
visible=0
ident=402
zorder=99
// Original text line below is disabled
// gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU, 0,0,385,600,L #0
// New text line below to enable only the CDU screen
gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU, -90,-120,570,1645,L #0

//
// CDU (Right)
//
[Window17]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
size_mm=385,600
window_size= 0.20052, 0.50000
position=2
visible=0
ident=420
zorder=99

// Original text line below is disabled
// gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU, 0,0,385,600,R #0
// New text line below to enable only the CDU screen
gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU, -90,-120,570,1645,R #0

Also remember to add in

…\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\737NGX_Options.ini
the following two lines to the bottom of the file and save:
[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1

HI
Sioc is in the D drive
My Master is;
[ MASTER=13,13,1,40 ]
[ MASTER=13,13,1,42 ]
Both CDU L & R modified in the Panel folder
Options.ini text pasted

I'm going to uninstall everything and I'm going to reinstall it and if it does not work, I'm going to sell these FMC that are driving me crazy. Since 1995 I have installed all versions of FS and its components and I have never had as many problems as with these modules, the same problems I'm having with the MCP-PRO OF GoFlight. Change from W7 to W10 and it has been a nightmare.
I left the FSX and changed to Prepar3D and PMDG thinking that everything would be better but until today everything has been a failure.
Thank you for your support, maybe it is me who is not doing things right but I am already 67 years old and I am impatient because I have invested a lot of money and I do not see the results.
I will keep you updated on how the reinstallation is going.
Thanks.

Hi,
You didn't send me the text of the files I wanted to look at.

If I am going to help you , you have to do as I say. I guess that is your problem, you do not do things right.

If done correctly, OC4BAv4 will work fine.

AS you have both FMC configured as the Captain's FMC, things are going to be weird.

It should look like:

[ MASTER=13,13,1,40 ]
[ MASTER=23,13,1,42 ]

if the left side FMC is connected to USB port 40 and the other to USB port 42.

If you read the documentation, it states:

If you have 2 or more units of same type or an Opencockpits module based on IOCARD
hardware, you need to link these Modules with the correct function under Operations.
1. Click any P&P modules you have 2 of in Cockpit configuration to delete them.
For EFIS modules:
2. Click EFIS in Modules and identify module by connecting to module with the same USB
number in the opened SiocMonitor subwindow and move a knob.
For all other module types:
3. Click a type in Modules to identify it by flashing LEDS or a moving servo.
4. Click the correct function in Operations.

Hi
Understood.
Please confirm if you want me to change, in this line: [ MASTER=23,13,1,42 ] # 13 to 23. My Master states [ MASTER=13,13,1,42 ].

Another question. I do not have to do any script in SIOC, only instal it. Right?
All the configuration have to be made only in OC4BAv, right?

I'll keep you updated on my progress.
Thank you for you patient.

You only need to install and run OC4BAv4/Config as stated in documentation.
No need to to do any scripting or change scripts if you have the Opencockits built modules.

Normally you do not need to change anything manually as the program should take care of everything if you do it correctly.
Please confirm if you want me to change, in this line: [ MASTER=23,13,1,42 ] # 13 to 23. My Master states [ MASTER=13,13,1,42 ].
Yes, this modification make one of the FMC to the FO's FMC.
