ADF not working correctly
ADF not working correctly
I can't get the ADF unit to work correctly. When I start the OC4BA4 server, it looks OK: the active- and standby values on the OC display units are initiated correctly (284.0 and 330.0). But as soon as I turn the encoder CW, the standby value jumps to 000.1 and isn't synchronised with the PMDG. Turning the encoder CCW, the standby value jumps to 1560.0 (!). Any suggestions?
Re: ADF not working correctly
DO you have the Opencockpits built module or a own built module?
Have you enabled the DataBroadCast setting? ( see OC4BAv4 doc)

Re: ADF not working correctly
I have the OpenCockpits ADF unit, and the databroadcast is enbled. The OpenCockpits units COM (2x), ATC and NAV (2x) units work perfect.
Re: ADF not working correctly
Test the ADF module in SIOC/SIOCMonitor and check which numbers are used when you rotate the rotaries.
What are the numbers?
What are the numbers?
Re: ADF not working correctly
0/1 outer wheel, 4/5 inner wheel.
Re: ADF not working correctly
Inputs numbers are correct.
What is state of the airplane ( Short,Long, Default) ?
Are the other buttons working? Can you switch displays with TRF button?
What is the text in the PMDG B737.ini file in SIOC folder?

Re: ADF not working correctly
Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean with the state of the airplane!?
The switches work, although the standby display doesn't change-over in the PMDG pedestal (it does change on the OC ADF module).

Re: ADF not working correctly
If the only issue you have is that the PMDG ADF StandBy display does not sync with the OC module's StandBy display, you have to live with that. The switches work, although the standby display doesn't change-over in the PMDG pedestal (it does change on the OC ADF module).
The PMDG SDK nor P3D's SimConnect do not support the StandBy display to be sent to any client software.
But you really do not have it to sync for a proper function.
Re: ADF not working correctly
Because no one else has mentioned this non-syncing issue with the standby value of the ADF, it feels like it is something isn't right in my configuration. The other issue is still that as soon as I rotate the encoder the first time, the standby display jumps from 330.0 to a very strange number as mentioned. I don't expect that to be the normal behavior!?
Re: ADF not working correctly
You should not get any strage numbers, so somesting is going on with you hardware that is not correct.the standby display jumps from 330.0 to a very strange number as mentioned. I don't expect that to be the normal behavior!?
I suggest you try another USB connection. If that doesn't help. Log into IOCPConsole and trace what is really happening. If you find something strange send the log to roarkrsp@gmail.com
