New User Questions: OCP4NGX_v4.0.ssi

Post by DDC »

Hi all,

I am a fairly new user trying to setup my opencockpit components using OC4BAv4. I have the following Opencockpit add ons:
- OVH-FWD
- Captain FMC
- Single trainer MIP (including of course the master cards, USB servos etc). My MCP/EFIS is Goflight.

I have spent the last couple of months putting it all together. I've read the documentation and some of the instruments are working except for the left side of my OVH-FWD and the autobreak/flaps console in the MIP. I am trying to figure our the sequence of steps to complete the installation so let me try to write it down and please correct me where I am going wrong:
1. Install first SIOC and then OC4BAv4
2. Open and choose "Config"
3. Choose PMDG B737 in 1- Cockpits
4. Choose OCP4NGX_v4.0ssi
5. Link each of the types and USB numbers in "3-Modules" with each of the related "4-Operations" (eg. link each of the USB Servos to each of the correct servo cards).
Now is where it is getting confusing.
6. I know I need to click "script", save OCP4NGX_v4.0ssi as a text script, then modify it in order to meet my "own hardware numbering plan". I have no idea how to determine what my own hardware numbering plan would be and why I would change it. I know that once I change the hardware numbers then I would compile the script and then it would be my new .ssi file. Again, I have no idea why and to what I would have to change my hardware numbers to.

I think I am missing the key point here but dont seem to understand what I would need to change my numbers to (and whether I need to change them at all. See my attached .INI file.

If you have the Opencockpits built OVH, CDU and MIP, there is no reason to modify the input/putput numbers. You should though use OCP4NGX_v4.0_OC.ssi, as this script has the default Opencockpits numbering plan.

You also then have to make another configuration file. THe one you have no has several issues.

Verify that you have the Opencockpits built modules and try to use the OCP4NGX_v4.0_OC.ssi.

Tell me the status after you have done, so we can go further if needed.
