B737 FMC Buttons Not Working (SOLVED)

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with my new FMC which I cannot get to work. I have followed the "MUST READ" to the letter, but I cannot get any of the buttons to respond. I have the OCBA v3 in my P3D Add Ons menu. All appears correct setting up the SIOC.ini and entering the cockpit, but my FMC is unresponsive.

When I initially got the FMC I was using the free drivers etc from the Opencockpits website which worked OK for a couple of days before the driver started crashing on startup. As I intend to expand the amount of modules I own I thought it a good idea to invest in OCBA v3, but I am having no luck in getting it to work.

This is my SIOC.ini generated y OCBAConfig:

[SIOC]
IOCP_port=8092
IOCP_timeout=4000
Minimized=Yes
toggle_delay=20
[IOCARDS MODULE]
IOCard_disable=No
IOCard_LPT=No
[FSUIPC MODULE]
FSUipcdisable=No
FSUipcRefresh=60
[IOCP CLIENTS MODULES]
IOCPini_delay= 3000
IOCPclient0_disable=yes
IOCPclient0_host=localhost
IOCPclient0_port=8099
IOCPclient1_disable=yes
IOCPclient1_host=localhost
IOCPclient1_port=8092
[SOUND MODULE]
Sound_disable=Yes
Volume=100
[*]
[PMDG B737]
CONFIG_FILE=OCP4NGX_PP_v2.0.ssi
MASTER=13,13,1,129

Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mick

Sorry to read that you have problems to get things up and running.

Your config files looks OK.

Have you tested your FMCv3 with the OC FMC test program (described in the FMCv3 manual) to check that the hardware is OK?

Is it connected to the Power Supply?

You can also check if the LED outputs are working by running the SIOC Monitor subprogram in SIOC.exe

You can also check it is working by running IOCPConsole subprogram in SIOC.exe

1) Turn on LOG
2) Press some buttons on the FMCv3
3) Check that the log is correct in respect to the key you pressed.

If it is working OK in the above test the module is OK.

Do OCP4NGX.exe shows up briefly and stay up running after you “go into cockpit” from OC4BA?

Hi Roar,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have had a look at your suggestions and have found some issues:

Have you tested your FMCv3 with the OC FMC test program (described in the FMCv3 manual) to check that the hardware is OK?

Forgive me if I've missed it but I've read the manual top to bottom and I can't see a test process for the FMC.

Is it connected to the Power Supply?

It's definitely connected to a power supply.

You can also check if the LED outputs are working by running the SIOC Monitor subprogram in SIOC.exe

I've started SIOC monitor sub program which initially shows my device but once the driver has started this information disappears.

You can also check it is working by running IOCPConsole subprogram in SIOC.exe

1) Turn on LOG
2) Press some buttons on the FMCv3
3) Check that the log is correct in respect to the key you pressed.

When I start the console it lets me Log on but the status remains at Disconnected no matter what I do so I cannot see any information

If it is working OK in the above test the module is OK.

Do OCP4NGX.exe shows up briefly and stay up running after you “go into cockpit” from OC4BA?

When I press to enter the cockpit the driver (OCP4NGX) window opens for a couple of seconds and then minimizes to the task bar for a second before disappearing.

I hope all this makes sense and gives you some clues as to what might be happening.

Many thanks in advance.

Mick

This issue has been resolved via private email. Turns out it was my port 8092 being used by other software that was causing my problems.

Now everything is using port 8094, all is good.

My sincere thanks go to Roar for his fantastic support.

Regards,

Mick
