OC MCP Timing out

Post by VH-JLC »

Good afternoon,

I just received my OC MCP V2 with white digits and the EFIS module yesterday and I'm hitting a big snag.
I've gone through your tutorial step by step and even have edited the xml.exe file so the OCB4A V 3 appears in the drop down menu of P3d V2.5
I've selected the OCPNGX PP1.2 script
And have also enabled the Data broadcast from the NGX SDK

WHen I fire up the sim all the digits and switches work for about 5seconds and all display the correct values as per what the NGX has in game than they all go out.
When I turn the CRS SPD HDG ALT rotary's in the NGX the MCP lights up and follows what's being done in the sime for another 2-3 seconds before going all blank again
Ive even tried the power management USB trick here here as well as pressing the C/O button when everything is going but I still only get my OCP MCP displays for only a few seconds

Is there anything that it sounds like I've missed??
Im running Win7 64 bit
3930K
Nvidia GTX 980

Any help would be great cheers

Hi,

It looks like you have done everything correct as you get correct information on the MCP displays initially.

Do you have a Power Supply connected to the MCP?

Have you tried to connect to another USB connection. Try another that goes directly to th PC not via any outside hub.
Remember to reconfigure with OC4BAConfig after changing to another USB port.

DO the OCPNGX.exe crash or do the display just disappear?

If it crash, what are the crash info you get?

What is in the text of OC.log file in SIOC folder?

Also verify that the OCP4NGX.exe is version v2.4.8

What is the text of your sioc.ini file after the [*]

Hi mate,

I feel so incredibly silly right now,

My powered USB hub wasn't sufficient and that was the problem, Plugging it straight in to my tower worked perfectly..

Only issue I'm having now is similar to this where the 777 V/S isn't in sync pretty much the same as this topic viewtopic.php?f=12&t=236&start=10 (the rest works fine)

I Roar,

I downloaded the new script and have been flying the NGX with zero issues even after 7-8 consecutive flights,
Unfortunately the 777 driver you PM'd me crashes after about 30 seconds with no fault log. It simply stops.
It has addressed the VS sync issue but I can't get it stable..

Do you have any ideas how to troubleshoot this??

Cheers

Hi,

What are your driver and script versions when using B777.

I do have a topic about info to send in.

Check OC.log, Event Viewer.

Hi Roar,

I've downloaded the said program that shows me the "Process explorer" but I don't know what to type in the cmd line and I also don't know where the O.C log and event viewer are...

I tried narrowing down the problem and even after I unplugged the MCP and ran the EFIS by itself it caused the smae crash about 1min into running.
I even ran the file straight from the hard drive clicking on "run as admin" to no luck..

Any input would be great as it's only the 777 im having problems with, The ngx is still running flawlessly

cheers

The OC.log is in your SIOC folder. Send me this after next crash.

AS said earlier I need to see the version number of both the OCP4777X driver and OCP4777X script you are using when it crash.

You would see the driver version if you right click over OCP4NGX.exe in SIOC folder and then go to Details.

You will see the script version if you look in the 777sioc.ini file in SIOC folder.

Send me this info. I can't do much without knowing which program versions you are running.

The Event Viewer you will find if you search for EVENT Viewer on your PC.

DO you have any OCP4777X.exe in a P3D2.5\khgv\ folder?

You should only have SIOC and OC4BA, drivers and scripts in ONE folder location.
