OC4BA problems and P3D

Post by Jammur »

Hello,

I'm new to the SIOC world and hoping for some advice. I have both the drivers for the NGX and the 777, the latest scripts as I was sent by Roar. In FSX my NGX is a no go on startup of the script (once NGX is loaded) every door on the aircraft open, the batteries turn off the wipers are on full everything goes to pot and I have limited function on my Mcp V2. I can enter the altitude and it changes, once I turn the course and heading knobs I get a -99 in the displays on the MCP?

My second problem is the 777, although it works great my VS mode is very delayed and it does the opposite most times, everything else is fine there.

Finally in P3D I can load my MCP with the migrated NGX which seems to work alot better than FSX, however everything is delayed, maybe 4-5 seconds of my input to the NGX and don't have full flight controls once loaded? Although when I turn the dials through the NGX it displays on the MCP instant?

Has anyone came across any of these problems, nothing just seems to work properly all i want is to be able to control my aircraft with the MCP for a full flight.

I appreciate you reading. Thanks

Hi,

In order to help you get things up and running I need the following info:

The text in your SIOC.ini for both the NGX and 777X

The version numbers of driver and script for both NGX and 777X

Send this info and then I check for next action to take

Hi,

You are not saying which OCP4NGX driver version you have active?

I suggest you rename OCP4NGX.exe in SIOC folder to OCP4NGX.exe.notinuse
and rename OCP4NGX_246.exe ( that also should be in your SIOC foler) to OCP4NGX.exe

Verify by right clicking and select Properties on OCP4NGX.exe to see that the version is correct = 2.4.6

Looking at your sioc.ini for the B737 you are using the OCP4NGX_v2.9b

I suggest you reconfigure in OC4BAConfig an use OCP4NGX_PP_v1.2.ssi as you seems to have only P&P modules.

After this you should have the driver and script that only supports P&P modules.

your sioc.ini, after configuring the NGX in OC4BAConfig, should look like
[*]
CONFIG_FILE=OCP4NGX_PP_V1.2.ssi
MASTER=15,5,1,101

Now over to the 777X

You sioc.ini text is empty for this one

it should look like this after configuration of the 777X in OC4BAConfig

[*]
CONFIG_FILE=OCP4777X_v1.3.ssi
MASTER=15,5,1,101

Remember that after doing the configuration of the NGX and 777X in OC4BAConfig you end up with

2 different configurations

one for NGX , defined in 737sioc.ini
one for 777X, defined in 777sioc.ini

These files should not be alter in anyway by you, they belongs to OC4BAConfig

When you change aircraft to fly in OC4BA it copies the content of either 737sioc.ini or 777sioc.ini , depending of which aircraft you select to fly

I believe there must be some mix up in this aera that have caused you problems

Hi Roar

Thanks for gettting back here is now the soic.ini file for the 737, we still have the -99 error in the course / heading/course windows on the FMC although now when Il oad the script the plane isnt reacting funny like wipers on etc etc so thats a start.. I noticed my USB port is reading 129 rather than 101 , should I change it to 101 althogh its detecting my MCP as 129.... Yes I changed the files as you said and I am running 2.4.6, confirmed by right clicking and going to details...

The 777 I can sort and can live with so now the priority lies on the 737, anything else yo can suggest ? Ive also placed a screenshot of the folders

EDIT - Added 777 ini file

Hi,

You should use the detected USB number, do not manually change it.

AS everything looks OK, I now am quite sure that your problem is related to the initialization of the NGX.

DO you have anything else connected to the NGX software. Other hardware/software?

Try the following

1) do not start FSX of P3D

2) go to SIOC and start OC4BA, select NGX and click cockpit window.

Now SIOC.exe is started together with OCP4NGX

Open the SIOC main window and start IOCPConsole and the CONNECT and LOG ON

If you now start turning the rotaries, the displays should show up correctly , no -99 in the displays

Check also the LOG output that the changes you make when rotating the knobs looks OK

Close SIOC.exe and OCp4NGX by clicking the cockpit window in OC4BA

Start up the NGX in the default state ( you do it from the FMC/CDU).

Now do the same as above with the IOCPConsole and LOG ON

Do you still have the -99 in the CRS displays?

If Yes, you have a strange OVH state condition in your NGX software

Check that MCP POWER_ON is 1 and EL_STATE is 15 via the IOCPConsole's LOG outputs

Report back about your findings.

Hi

I have done as you said and even opening the IOCP console I get the -99 in the course and heading windows! Without the NGX loaded... It can't be an MCP problem as the 777 works fine. Should I revert back to an older script or what do you suggest?

Ok now the strange thing is when I boot up my other hard drive with P3D on it and do the exact same thing, it works no problem! I don't know why. The course moves fine and the digits are changing?

So I loaded up P3D and NGX everything loads fine and works fine, although I have around a 3 second delay from MCP to NGX but from NGX to MCP its instant. I will be happy with P3D and solve this problem if I can change the delay, any ideas?
