Driver PMDG B777 v1.4

Post by Hans K »

With this driver (PMDG B777 v1.4) the comms unit is well functioning. Unfortunately the driver will not completely start automatic. I tried several times but every time, I am getting the windows security message that the OiPMDG777.exe is not properly signed. I have to give permission every time. Check or un-check the box that the next time permission is not necessary doesn't help. Does anyone recognise this?

Hi,

In the meantime I solved this issue. Go to the file OiPMDG777.exe, right click on "properties"'. On tab "General" you will find in the last part a message that this file is generated on a different computer and not trusted. Select the most right box, click on ""Apply".
My OS is W11 Dutch so |I hope the mentioned terms above are correct.

Kind regards,
Hans

For some unknown reason to me I do not have this issue anymore. Driver starts again without any warning.

However I could not find the information you are refereeing to on my system (Win 11 NL).

That’s the right window and tab. However, after the file is trusted by the OS the information and boxes I mentioned is no longer visible. As long as the file is NOT trusted, that is mentioned down in the window together with two boxed you can click on.
The fact that the downside of that window is empty means the file is trusted.

As stated in the "Important Oi4FS24 installtion info.pdf" you should NOT install Oi4FS and SIOC to the Program Files[86) directory.

When apps are installed to this directory the UAC will be active by default.

No app on my Flightsim computer is installed in the standard program directories of Windows. I think the reason of this issue is related to the way the driver is installed. Up to v1.3 the distribution of the driver included an installer (setup.ex). I ran this setup as admin and didn’t have issues. V1.4 was without the installer so I copied the files to the correct folder.

Some very few users got the early v1.4 update as a zip file only.

Now it is distributed as a Setup file and should not cause any problems if not installed to the Program Files directories.
