Default COM and ATC settings

Post by Mladen »

Is it possible to set COM radio to default (active) 122.800 value and the ATC Squawk code to 2000 when the script is started?
I could not achieve this by saving Panel State in PMDG.

Hi Mladen,
I am also using a saved panel state to set the com frequencies I prefer, in my case 131.900 (my company freq.) and 122.800. These values are stored in the panel state file I use under the header [CommRadio's]: RadioFreq00=131900 and RadioFreq01=122800 and works as expected. I hope this will help you.
Further more I advise you to put the question on the PMDG/B777 user to user support forum because it is something with the PMDG, not with the OC software in my opinion.
Regards, Hans K

Hans, thank you for your suggestion. I'll give it a try again since my changes in "Panel State" file were replaced with original values as soon as i started a new flight.

It should be possible to fix this with some clever script modification.
I.e
Check initial settings of COM Standby ND and ATC values received from airplane
Based on initial settings compute needed turns of Inner and Outer knobs to achieve the wanted settings
Initiate the computed turns

I do not have time to do this, but it should be quite easy for someone with some SIOC script coding experience.

Roar, thank you for your suggestion.
Well, it seems that 777 handles things differently then 737 regarding the "Panel State" files. I followed Han's instructions and the sim did not overwrite modified values. Thanks Hans.
Have fun guys,

To get default Squawk Code 2000 I changed XpndrCode=8192 (PanelState file)

[TCAS]
Powered=0
XPNDR=0
ALT SOURCE=0
Mode=0
XpndrCode=8192
ActiveTCASAural=-1
