COM 1 2 issue

Post by James Curry »

COM 1 2 issue,
When I load up the FS, left com panel is com1 right com2 as per what you would expect in the virtual cockpit.
I then load up OI4FS and my hardware initializes nicely
After the hardware loads up the drivers my radio panels on the left and (right physical items) both then switch and control com2 both physically and also in the VC until I hit the VHF1 button in the VC then both behave as they should.

I know its probably and oversight by me in something I've done but cant put a finger on it, any advice would be greatly appreciated as to why both turn in to com2 devices.

Just at the stage where im trying to iron out those smaller bugs and this being one of them.

My left usb com panel USB device 29 set to IDX8 and my right device 23 set to IDX18
Any help would be massively appreciated as always,

After much searching around and looking at the script I had realised that I'd used VAR numbers that corresponded to SDK VARS

I'd assigned the same VAR number for my cabin air temp rotary switches as the VARS for the COMM1 buttons
2273 = COM1_AM_SWITCH
2274 = COM1_HF2_SWITCH
2276 = COM1_HF_SENSOR_KNOB
2277 = COM1_HF1_SWITCH
2278 = COM1_INNER_SELECTOR
2280 = COM1_OUTER_SELECTOR
2281 = COM1_PNL_OFF_SWITCH
2283 = COM1_TFR_SWITCH
2286 = COM1_VHF1_SWITCH
2287 = COM1_VHF2_SWITCH
2288 = COM1_VHF3_SWITCH

So not only by having my air temp rotary working it was also changing the COMM1 push buttons at the same time.
I've had a look in the IOCP console and chosen some VARS that looked clear.

Generally VARS..........
0-710 are used for inputs by PMDG
1000-1835 used by SDK defined outputs
2001-2820 used by SDK defined inputs

Anything generally 710-1000 are fairly clear, as are anything after 2900

Hope this info will help others who are building as well. You can allocate SDK VARS it seems to switches etc and it will allow you to but will also in effect give you dual inputs/actions.

Hi James

Are these VAR numbers you mention listed in the PMDG SDK? or where can I find them if not?

Regards
Ian
