PMDG B737-800 support

Post by Skycowboy »

Hej Roar,

surely you noticed the release of the PMDG 737-800.
Are there any plans to support this excellent aircraft, too?
I tried the latest driver, which you developed for the PMDG 737-700, with the PMDG 737-800.
In relation to my hardware devices I noticed, that with the 737-800 the annuniciator of AFT-OVH, FW-OVH and MCDU
don't work. Switches, push buttons und rotaries seems to work very well.

Tak og god aften!

I am not aware of any issues with the 800 compared to the 700 variant.

I will support it, but I need info from PMDG if there has been any changes to the SDK,

It will help to further investigate the issue if you could provide me with a list of annunciators that are not working.

Hej Roar,

I tested your Oi4FS driver (Oi4FS add-on drivers PMDG737) with the new PMDG 737-800 and it's the same.
All annunciators of AFT-OVH, FW-OVH and MCDU not working respectively not illuminated if it should. I activated in addition the Lights test switch on MIP (virtual in MSFS2020/PMDG 737-800) and all annunciator lights virtual are illuminated, but not on Opencockpits hardware. Furthermore no hardware indication of FLT ALT, LAND ALT and DC-AC-Display, IRS OVH. Furthermore I'm missing the typical servo sound from OVH and Control stand after your driver is running.
I hope this informations will help you to evaluate the reason of disfunction with PMDG 737-800.

Tak og god dag!

Did you add the SDK lines to the 737_Option.ini file for the 800 airplane?
This is needed for all variants, They have their own option.ini file addressed by either ..736, ..737,...738, ..739
using the path information below

[SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.0=1
EnableCDUBroadcast.1=1

to the file 737_Options.ini in the PMDG 738 work folder

The path to the 737_Options.ini should be ( replace roa-k with your user name)

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Flight Simulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Packages\PMDG-aircraft-738\work
If you have the Steam version of MSFS,
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\PMDG-aircraft-738\work

I added the [SDK] lines as you adviced and now at my first glance it's all working!!

Thank you so much for fast reply!
