SmartStarter fails to create image database

Post by mifra01 »

Hi Roar,

unfortunately SmartStarter fails in creating image database. When I hit the button - just nothing happens. In the airplane model selection box only "captions" appear, no particular airplane is selectable. If I press "help" or "scenario" a warning box appears. For any help I would be appreciative.

Best wishes,

Michael

Where do you have the SmartStarter folder?

What is the P3D version?

What if you run SmartStarter with admin rights?

There is no support for SmartStater anynore as everyone should use the new p3dStarter.

Have you tried the p3dStarter?

If yes and the issue is with p3dStarter, did you run p3dStarter.exe as administrator?

To check if airplane images were created, see if there is images in .../p3dStarter p3dStarter_airplanes.

re: no Airplane listed in ComboBox
pls check P3Dv4's SetupPath in Windows Registry Editor

The path in Registry Editor is: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

This is where p3dStarter reads P3Dv4's path from registry.

Are you using Windows10 or another Windows?

Airplane folder is empty, registry entry seems good (see attached images). I'm running Windows 7.

A little closer but still not working.....now I can see aircraft listed as well as the scenarios but it still does not load the panel state over three monitors as saved in the scenario. On startup of P3d I get an error message (see attached file)........
